University Of Jos Postpones Examinations Over Fire Incident.

The University of Jos has postponed ongoing first semester examinations following Saturday night fire incident that destroyed the library complex and some faculties.

Among faculties destroyed were those of Social Sciences and Management Sciences.
The Registrar, Mr Monday Danjem, said in a statement in Jos on Sunday that the decision was taken “pending an emergency Senate meeting
scheduled for Monday, Oct. 10.”
 
The statement, however urged students and members of the university community to remain calm and go about their normal businesses, noting that
the situation had been brought under control.
 
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quotes the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sebastine Maimako, as saying that the fire destroyed examination scripts, books and crucial materials.
