Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has said that their season will not be defined by Monday’s Premier League game against Liverpool at Anfield.

United began the season with three wins from three league fixtures, but have picked up only four points from their next four league games.

If they lose to Liverpool, it will leave Mourinho’s men trailing badly in the title race after just eight games. But the Portuguese insists that success of the season, does not depend on results of the big games.

“The season is not about the Anfield match and the Old Trafford match in January; the season is about many points to win, points to lose and targets to achieve,” Mourinho told the media, during a short, tense press conference at Old Trafford on Friday.

“Do you think Jose Mourinho is  afraid?”
