Firefighters responding to a report of a gas leak in a Bronx apartment made a grisly discovery Saturday night — a son and his mother fatally shot in the head.

Sharon Epps, 50, and Tyrell Bell, 27,  were found in separatebedrooms inside the first-floor apartment on Fulton Ave. near E. 174th St. in Claremont, police sources said.

A 49-year-old man who answered the door for first responders was being grilled at the 42nd Precinct stationhouse Saturday night, sources said. He had not been charged but was being treated as a person of interest.

Firefighters had responded to a report of a gas odor at the building at about 7:30 p.m. At about the same time, there was a report of someone in cardiac arrest, officials said.

After finding both victims, first responders immediately alerted police. Both victims died at the scene, cops said.

Soon after the shooting, a man came out of the building screaming that his wife was dead, a building worker told News 12.

More than two dozen neighbors and apparent loved ones clutched each other outside the building, many of them wailing with grief.

Cops have named Antonio Robinson as a suspect in the shootings.
